The Birth of Vizai Engineering. From Childhood Friends to Industry Innovators

Vizai Engineering is more than just a company—it’s a vision born from friendship, passion, and an unyielding commitment to innovation. The story began in our school days when Prakash and Santhosh forged a strong bond over cricket. Little did they know that their friendship would later ignite an idea that would transform into a pioneering venture in material handling and industrial automation.

Years later, as they pursued higher education, their shared dream began to take shape. Baskar, Santhosh, Manoharan, and Karthik, each with expertise in different engineering disciplines, joined forces to turn their college room discussions into a revolutionary business. Later, Rajesh brought his financial expertise into the journey.

The word ‘Vizai’ in Tamil (விசை) means force, a name that resonates with our commitment to pushing boundaries in industrial automation. What started as casual brainstorming sessions among school and college friends transformed into a company that now integrates IoT-enabled solutions, robotics, and smart automation to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity for industries worldwide.

With a shared passion and unwavering determination, we founded Vizai Engineering Private Limited to revolutionize material handling and automation. Today, we stand at the forefront of innovation, continuously evolving to meet the demands of a rapidly advancing industrial landscape.

Dr. Baskar is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vizai Engineering, leading the company’s vision, strategy, and overall growth. He holds an M.E. in Manufacturing Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), Chennai and a Doctorate in New Product Development from Anna University, Chennai. With over 18 years of experience in product development and four patents, he specialises in engineering design, advanced manufacturing technologies, and Industry 4.0-driven product innovation.

At Vizai Engineering, Baskar spearheads the integration of cutting-edge technologies into material handling solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards and evolving market demands. He oversees company operations, strategic decision-making, and the management of key relationships with customers, suppliers, and investors.

His leadership fosters a strong organisational culture, empowering senior management and driving the company toward sustainable growth through continuous innovation and technological excellence.

CTO, Co-Founder

Santhosh

Santhosh is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Vizai Engineering, leading the company’s technological vision and innovation. With a B.E. in Electronics and Instrumentation and 18 years of experience in automotive embedded software development, he specializes in IoT product development, industrial automation and automotive embedded systems.

He has held key leadership and technical roles at major automotive companies, including Pixelexpert Technology & Services (Director), Nippon Seiki (HMI Specialist), HCL Technologies (Technical Architect), KPIT and Visteon.
At Vizai Engineering, Santhosh drives advancements in material handling equipment by integrating automation, robotics, and data analytics to enhance efficiency, reliability, and competitiveness. He leads engineering teams, ensures compliance with industry standards, and fosters continuous improvement. Collaborating across departments, he aligns technology strategies with business goals, ensuring Vizai Engineering remains at the forefront of innovation in a rapidly evolving industry.

Prakash

Prakash, Associate Vice President (AVP) – Technical at Vizai Engineering, brings over 14 years of expertise in manufacturing processes, factory automation, and supply chain management. He holds a Diploma from Madras Institute of Engineering and Technology and has played key technical roles at SSB Powar Tech and TRP Material Handling Equipment.

With 7+ years of experience as a freelance consultant in product development and services for leading industries and warehouses in Chennai, Prakash specializes in advanced manufacturing processes and logistics management.

At Vizai Engineering, he drives service innovation, operational efficiency, and compliance, ensuring high-quality maintenance, repairs, and upgrades while strengthening the company’s technical excellence and competitive edge.

Manoharan

Manoharan Sundrasen plays a key role in operations and strategic planning at Vizai Engineering, driving efficiency and growth. With expertise in industrial automation, material handling solutions, and business development, he ensures seamless execution of projects and process optimization. Rajesh

Rajesh Panchacharam is a finance leader with over a decade of experience in financial management, strategic planning, and corporate governance. As Associate Vice President (Finance) at Vizai Engineering, he oversees financial operations, risk management, and investment strategies, ensuring the company’s growth and stability.

With a strong background in financial planning, taxation, budgeting, and compliance, Rajesh has played key roles in Rajalakshmi Wind Energy Limited, PixelExpert Technology & Services Pvt Ltd, and Rajalakshmi Institutions, where he successfully led financial transformations and operational efficiencies. His expertise extends to supply chain finance, having worked as Executive – Finance/Supply Chain at AV Properties India Pvt Ltd.

At Vizai Engineering, Rajesh drives financial efficiency, cost optimization, and business expansion, playing a vital role in the company’s mission to revolutionize material handling and industrial automation.

IT Architect

Karthik

Karthik is a seasoned technology architect with over 20 years of experience in UI/UX design, customer experience, and enterprise application development. As a key contributor at Vizai Engineering, he plays a crucial role in IoT development, optimising digital workflows, enhancing user experience, data analytics, and driving technology-driven automation in material handling and industrial automation.

With an extensive background in responsive UI design, supply chain workflow management, and process automation, Karthik brings deep expertise in scalable web applications, cloud-based platforms, and smart industrial solutions. He is instrumental in leveraging IoT-enabled technologies to streamline material handling operations, warehouse management systems, and digital public infrastructure.

Before joining Vizai Engineering, Karthik co-founded Granniez Green Herbs, an online provider of premium quality herbal products. He designed and developed the Granniez Green Herbs web application, architecting the end-to-end supply chain workflow from order placement to fulfillment, ensuring seamless customer experience and operational efficiency.

Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles at top organizations such as Jivox, Mphasis, ITC Infotech, Aditya Birla Minacs, Hewlett-Packard, and Genpact. His expertise spans across engineering management, UI architecture, customer-focused digital transformations, and technology-driven operational enhancements.

Karthik holds a BE in Information Technology from Bharathiar University and continues to push boundaries in digital transformation, automation, and industrial innovation at Vizai Engineering.
